Gosh, this must be a gentle one if I finished it before anyone started a thread. Took a moment to get in to but then it all fell into place straightforwardly.

Apart from the slight (but understandable) misstep of misspelling 10d, likewise.

Good day. I had very similar thoughts. Under an hour in the middle of the night when I woke up.

I had many PDMs. Enjoyable. The rhyming pair helped me. Some straightforward anagrams.

My CoD is 22a but would consider 12a with a very loud groan for that PDM.

Not difficult but some satisfying challenges. COD candidates:16a 18d and 23a. They provided the aha! moments.

Definitely at the easy end of the spectrum as over in no time. Today’s Quiptic was more of a challenge!

I'm pretty clear on the answer to 15d -- definition Disdainful -- but can't parse (son) Humming. I've been looking for a usage connected to odour but can't find one.

1 letter son. 5 letters humming. Odour, yes.
