ianwil@16: I wrote in 23 but later thought the parsing unclear. I agree with your parsing and now think 23 is an excellent clue I underrated.

Definitely easier than last week ! Finished without needing help from forum . FOI 1d of course, LOI 20d , difficult to pick out one COD but like 5a, 27/26a and 8d. Can’t remember any other contributions from Matilda but she/he is added to my list of favourite compilers.

Thank you very much. Too many of these clues in this crossword which involve letters 'clothing' others etc etc which I consider quite poor. You don't feel you've solved something really clever.

25 just builds up from left to right. Definition last word.
