Gridfill challenging but ok. Letters identified. Instruction understood. But no idea what the phrase is or how to follow instruction as to what must be done. Any help gratefully received.

If you look at the letters in the grid (in order) for the first instruction you'll see the full title.

Thank you drxx. Shape completed. Is the phrase just what the letters spell or should I be thinking of something else? I don’t really see the relevance of what happened to the perimeter words either.

The first word is a name (with a connection to the shape). Think about repeated letters for the perimeter.

Still struggling with the grid fill, a hint for 12A might help, "Dried fish in piled lines, regularly set out" (7), with an extra letter in the clue. Thanks in advance

Yes, it's just the name (6 letters) and the shape - but you might have the wrong extra letter 12a.

...or was 'pled' a typo?
