I can't see this tricky one at present:-
46 Across - "Dent with Ford Prefect for the fifth time, not causing much damage?" (6,8) I have -O-T-Y -A-M-E-S, which at first sight seems to be MOSTLY HARMLESS, but is probably not!

I’m guessing ‘vermicelli’ only because ‘vermi’ is almost ‘vermin’ (rodents).

I saw the Mice as the rodents. Liver mice L, with the first pair, first two letters, moving to the end. Ver mice l li?

Car is the 'wheels' with OM, order(Order of Merit) and Miss, overlook, inside. C OM Miss ar.

43 Down - "Cross border crime force drops its case for unfortunate dead plant-eater"

I have _a_r_p_d and dead plant eater leads me to believe the answer is sauropod, but I can't parse the rest. Any ideas? Thank you.
