Dare I say a trickier, but also more enjoyable, Everyman than usual?
FOI 4d
LOI 15a
COD? Tricky. I liked 7d a lot.

Hi rogissimo

Sorry I started a thread too just after you - I'll try to delete it

Enjoyed this one - I seemed to get on the wavelength early and completed it in short time for me. FOI 1A, LOI 21D, COD 8D, but several other close ones. All in all, an enjoyable Saturday evening here in the US.

Good day. Agree it was tricky in places but generally fine, managed under the hour with minimal use of aids. The primarily had a good surface. Rhyming pair evident. Spooner works well.

COD is 15a although I'd normally expect a slightly different second part of the word.

Yevrah - I think 15a does use the expected second part of the word. Might you have entered 7d as a noun, rather than an adjective?

I thought this was very good; had to think hard for a few, including the excellent 15a (not sure what alternative to the second part could be though, Yevrah?). One which I can't parse - 9 Cutter between Channel Islands, losing direction, distressed (7). I can see the definition and the obvious letters - gentle hints appreciated!

As I finished this, I said to myself, “ Done by 9am. It’s going to be a good day today “. A really enjoyable puzzle with some clever misdirections and a well-crafted hidden.
FOI: 1a
LOI: 11d
COD: Can’t choose a single clue. I really liked 2d, 13d, 15a and 26a. 11a gets a highly commended.
Thank you Everyman!

Hi Sealionsteve,

9a - 2,2, then 4 letter "distressed" losing single letter (compass) "direction"

Thanks twit, you are correct.

Now I see what 'mate' is there for.

Second part of the word is more 'east european' than an 'entry into this forum' !😄
