Well, what an (ultimately enjoyable) slog that was! Some difficult clueing and a lengthy search in the grid for some of the artists.
I think the advice to use Wikiart.org hindered rather than helped to be honest. A brilliant construction on the part of Harribobs. Many thanks!

The key for me was to find the "key piece". Comparing the grid to that work made it much easier to find the artists. I don't know if this is Harribobs' best construction ever (there are many contenders) but it must be in the top 5.

As with Buddy, identifying the key work made the rest of the end game easier.

Very clever construction and some of the clues had me scratching my head for a while.

(I'm sure I did a crossword with a very similar end result in recent times, possibly a Magpie offering).

I imagine you’re thinking of Broadway Boogie Woogie, granama1. I solved this without bothering to look up the artwork. Lazy and silly, as it made the endgame rather a chore. I was lucky to know almost all the artists. Undeniably a wonderful construction, as is Harribobs’ wont.

I managed to complete this week's Listener eventually, thanks to Playfair knowledge from last weeks Azed, but IQ 1888 is proving tough for me, with only about ten clues solved after several hours.
Can someone help me get going? 1d or 26d would be a good place!
1.Ex-fighter had relations with twisting vamp in poem (6) Yes, that does seem too long a clue for 6 letters!
26.Writing about international objects (8)
Probably an extra letter in the wordplay for both.

The fighter is the usual "greatest". The vamp is an alternate spelling of someone who gave perhaps the most famous haircut in history.

Object is a verb here. International is used in the cricketing sense.

In 1d, can't see what the poem is, why there is an H missing, or why LED is 'had relations with'!

Lumen, in 1d. your E should be an A. The word is in Chambers, even though it's a proper noun.
