Stuck on 42a please.
There is a misprint in the definition.
Killer of cells discovered alien mutating in vessel (6)
I have ?AILE?

The cells aren't in the body, and it's not a 'killer'. 'Discovered' is the usual crossword instruction, that goes inside a three letter common vessel (not a ship_.

The first letter of killer is the misprint
anagram of alien -an in a 3 letter vessel.

Have I got the first seven misprints (across clues) wrong? I have ALIT?SF. Can’t be right. What have I not seen?

The S is incorrect. The first 5 letters make up only part of a word.

Does anybody use the on-line subscription? I have mailed it from my phone for use on the laptop as usual, but when I attempt to open the newspaper it just loops. There has been an upgrade to the site and maybe the testing wasn't up to snuff. As a retired IT bod it doesn't come as any surprise!

Rather enjoyed this, but am in two minds about the 'premier example'. I'm leaning towards 'premier' as 'first'.

I think any other interpretation would require a subjective answer, whereas "first" is objective.
