Going well, but my NE corner has gaps.
Despite being Scots and having been in many boozers, and also quite a stressy person, I need help with 7a.
Scots stress swallowing (excellent) beer without head in Scots boozer (6). I believe excellent is an extra word.

7a - 3 letters for 'beer' (minus the first) inside an odd Scots word for 'stress' (also an Ethiopian monetary unit).

Full grid achieved. Can't see what I'm highlighting though! Any hints would be graciously welcomed!

Did you actually remove the letters from above leaving gaps?

Aha! I've thoroughly enjoyed this one, and am looking forward to finishing up the endgame now I know where to look. I was about to highlight the "dropped" letters but thought it might interfere with the final highlighting. Much grid staring later...

Finished now, but unsure of parsing for 6d.
Oh and can't see definition for the longer version of 26d.

6d - Only 3 letters clued (it's the old Venetian magistrate minus...) and an alt sp for the usual collective noun.
26d - Def 'cerebral connection'.
