Back to normal. Almost too easy. COD 11a - who would have thought it.

Well put. This was a more "classic" Everyman offering.
I have the same FOI and LOI, going with 9 as COD.

Oh dear. Everyman really can't get the balance right, can he. Write in aside from the last two in the SW corner - even so, done and dusted in 12 minutes, with no need even to read some of the clues fully as the answer was so obvious. No doubt next week's will be utterly unfathomable!

Good day all. That was a bit of a breeze! But not being a fan of primarilies (unless I'm desperate!) I cannot go with 9a as COD however cleverly it's concocted.

Mines a choice between 11a and 3d, I'll opt for 3d.

Thanks for the nod, jono: I did! On the other hand I didn’t much like 23a, assuming I’ve got it right (which I think I have).
I also agree with you about the COD being elsewhere: in fact I came here to mention that Picaroon’s Quiptic today is an absolute delight.

Clues 23a and 24a seem to me to bear little relevance to their guessable answers. Any parsing hints would be appreciated.
