well, I have a full grid but absolutely no idea of any connection among the 14 lights. drxx has said it's in plain sight, but my old eyes aint what they used to be. an idea of the word count of the thing needed for a PDM (I'm assuming 3, something) would be useful before the Listener kicks in in under 4 hours.
Cockie, the magazine's title will help. You'll see that the only letters involved in the upper case part of the preamble are those which appear in the title. It's a question of fitting those in. The upper case part of the preamble has 38 letters. Some of the unclued answers allow only 1 possibility so you can cross out some of the upper case letters.. After that it is a question of finding the alternatives which allow you to use the rest of them.
Thanks, AP, but you have misunderstood my difficulty. I have correctly filled the grid, using the 38 letters, but I have no idea WHY. Not that it matters, but it would be nice to enjoy the PDM of which others have spoken (some highly).
The just-posted elves have suggested that there isn't actually any connection among the 14 lights apart from the fact that they use throughout only the 10 letters. As has been posited earlier - d'oh.
14 unclued was enough for me .....any more and the grid would be looking rather blank LOL!
I "suppose" they're only allowed a maximum of unclued cells...?
