Can I ask for help, please ?
I have filled the grid, found the unclued lights and am pretty sure I have the final 7d. (A 5 letter one)
However, I am struggling with 20d
Old actorclose to Nathan Lane at first (6) ?LLE?N
Is it an Elizabethan actor ?
If so, how does the clue work ?

I have to say that I found the use of that particular song a bit "off".

Fred, just a word for a lane, vennel, ginnel etc and add the last letter of ('close to...') Nathan. I didn't check the old actor, the name rang a distant bell!

That made me chuckle, Brendan - I had to think hard to avoid giving the actual 'lane' itself.

PS Have you seen inquisitor yet? It has stuff for you ' ...with an appropriate colour being used throughout'.
