I can imagine there's a differing reaction depending on which side of the Atlantic you inhabit. Perhaps an analogy might be if the song were "Sunday Bloody Sunday" because there just needed to be something to signal anagrams of the days of the week, It works but it's in poor taste,

I found a hidden one that doesn’t cross grid lines. I can’t find the one that buddy refers to earlier.
Would mine be acceptable given it fulfils the condition in the preamble? It’s in 22d going up.

My reaction was much the same as the first 3 correspondents: it wouldn't be difficult to develop the 7D theme using 'bananas' or 'salad' instead of this dark, dark song. But I would imagine that Lavatch was just unaware of the content, Anyway, when in doubt, consult a hedge priest (new to me too).

Frustrated that I can't resolve the last thematic entry at 24A:

I have nom?es but can't resolve this (one letter!) and the crossword solver gives no solution.

As far as I can tell all the letters I have are correct.

Late to this.

Whilst a fan of the singer, I can't listen to the song. The imagery that it conjures is hideous.

God help us if the orange cretin in the USA gets beaten in November. I fear some scary rabble-rousing.
