Hi everyone

I had hoped to report today that I had finished, but I am short of two anagrams for 51d,45a (number 7 on my list) and rebukes Molly etc(number 6 on my list) which has to fit into 46ac, 53ac and 68ac (I can't see how) I don't have time to go through the endless googling required to get them. I thought I'd got 51d, (is the first part Mary something?) but can't see the second half. Any hints would be welcome so I can throw it away.

I normally love these bank holiday crosswords, but not this one. I become obsessive and then don't get anything else done. Must make a cake to relax and catch up with other things I need to do today.

roof - as indicated the band in "Molly" is initials (and not REM). It's the only other initialled band I'd heard of - my son was much into it - and the number fits 2,4,3 into the lights you have left.

I'm obviously missing something but I can't (assuming I have the right answers for both - not guaranteed), fit in 14ac with 4d

Thanks Propero

Needless to say I've never heard of him, but I have found him at last. I did try the alternative first name before.

Thanks Prospero

problem is I have no idea and can't work out how to google someone with initials.

Could it be ELO?

Think I must be missing something for 37d "Pander in favour of one salting mackerel (8)". I have ?R?C?R?R, and the answer I think it is would be a person who panders rather than the act of pandering itself...plus the last half could equally be related to meats like bacon, so a question mark would have been apt. So I think I must have gone wrong somewhere. Maybe my answer is right but I'm reading the clue incorrectly?

I googled that guess and found the answers to both parts. Sorry I gave it away.

I did find my lack of knowledge made this very difficult. Can we have plants next time or cooking ingredients or something else I know please.

This means I have now finished. Whew!!!!!!

FOI 16ac, LOI 46,68ac, 53ac
LOIs were 70ac and 48d
