Not too bad this morning, I have 3 unfinished (more than that unparsed completely) any help with *9* and *18* would be appreciated. (I'll battle on with 1 down which is probably obvious)

Ah, realising my 10 down was incorrect, I now have 9, but ask, why 'elite'. Also 1d now solved.

Leaving just 18.

fernie - no doubt this will cross wiith another reply: 18 "uncase" golden. 9 is 3-letter had some food + 2-letter before noon.

You cold parse 9 as a three letter word followed by an abbreviation.

18 is the standard crossword clue meaning of uncased, ye answerre is right in front of you.

Thanks all, 18 was a 'doh' moment (I didn't know about uncased, I do now). And 9 was all down to pronunciation.
