Stuck on 11. I think the first name starts with HO, and the last name or word starts with the end of the first (draw back, draw back). But I have ?A?T?R for that and don't know who entered the tomb or what it might rhyme with (
...ATA?). UK pronunciation rhymes are hard for me to spot.

Ethereal.
Your letters re correct and you are correct about the first two letters and the rhyme. Everything else is read from the bottom up. The tomb is in Egypt.

Thanks Jono,
I found reference to the person who did this in Wikipedia.
Still not sure about the parsing of the first 3 letters of the second name. With an E it would work for Draw backward but how else?

ethereal, the parsing of 11 is really clever.
Interpret wordplay as Ho! (abruptly draw back, draw) back.
So the last 4 letters of the first word are ("draw") backward, and the second word is ("draw back" with last letter removed) backward.

Good one from Everyman IMO

Enjoyed that. Relatively easy solve but some fun clues. A couple of answers that had to be right but I couldn't fully parse, but those have been explained in this chat.

As always, a fun solve.

As always, rather disappointed at the extremely low standards that Everyman imposes on the construction of these puzzles.

Ximines suggests that no puzzle should have more than three anagrams. No such luck here.

And the large number of clues that use almost the identical etymology in both the clue and the answer belie a great laziness on the part of the constructor.

Maybe the most blatant example of this great laziness is the 10A clue "Way to wear swimwear in major thoroughfares".

Any self-respecting constructor would be ashamed of such a clue/answer combo.

With respect to anagrams, I am still laughing at last week 's 11ac.
