This seemed to me half way between the ‘old’ and ‘new’ style Everyman. A fairly quick solve, but some clues took a bit more lateral thinking than others.
FOI 1d, LOI 2.
I liked 10, 12 and 14 amongst others. Generally very enjoyable.
I would add, for those who don’t normally bother with it, that Picaroon’s Quiptic today is in my view a masterpiece in the genre. Beautifully clued throughout.
Harder than last week’s definitely. I did like 18a. And 5a. Clever rhyming pair and nice veggie link between 1d and 6d. Did not know you could spell 1a with an e at the end! Right I can get some sleep now that is all done. Happy Sunday all and well done England in the Euros, shame the rugby team just lost.
Pretty satisfying fill, moving from top right to bottom left osmotically. I'm left with one irritating failure to parse: the three letter 25a " Consume with passion in East End (3)"
It can only be one thing, especially after getting the crossers, but I can't see how the cluing works ...
Head's still hurting from all the slapping I gave it after finally parsing 18a (only after a Google autocorrect, annoyingly)!
I feel something similar may await regarding 19d, but can anyone help? The answer and definition seems obvious, but I'm mystified by the second part of the clue.
