The clues...
Requests for help should normally include the clue itself, the number of letters in the answer, and details of any you already have. Any additional information or special instructions, common in Listener puzzles, should also be included.
Hints only, please, no answers.

The theme...
Requests for help towards the theme can also be made here. The 'help' should be on the fairly gentle side - just a pointer or two, a nudge in the right direction. It's possible to be helpful without spoiling the puzzle for others!
Any posts which, even inadvertently, reveal too much of the theme are likely to be removed.

The Listener is a unique puzzle and should be treated wit h respect.

A show I knew very little about, although not too hard to find in the end - thanks Ares

Filled the grid, identified the show, but not sure I can be bothered trawling through all the lyrics. Perhaps if we beat Germany (or sneak a draw) I might reconsider.

A result far from your hopes, Cockie! If it’s any consolation, very little scouring is required.

Yes, very easy this week. Now need something else to fill my (Aussie) morning.
Neat idea, but no real challenge. One to add to the list for neophytes, because it has most of the basic Listener concepts.

I agree, rhsl, and having wiped away my not unexpected tears I duly found what was needed. However this is a perfect example of how the L has changed since google brought so many mysteries to our doorsteps. 20 years ago this puzzle would have been ruled out as being too arcane. It still is arcane, imho, but arcaneness is no longer a bar.

Well, I seem to in a minority here as I love the show and have seen it both on screen and live, I honestly thought it was much more well known than seems to the case, judging by the comments thus far.

You’re not alone, Brendan. The Library of Congress agrees, for one!

I enjoyed it, thank you Ares. A contrast to last week but it’s important to have a variety of difficulty levels.
