2 possibles for 27d?

Oh dear, another Doc with unclued answers in Brewer[/I] but not in Chambers. I don't have Doc's favourite book so I can't be bothered to finish.

I’ve only just started this week’s Speccy but my heart sank at the mention of The Book. I had to buy a copy last time Doc used it just to finish the puzzle.

I've worked out what the theme is and have half of the "unclueds" but even though owning a copy of "Brewer's" I still can't find the specific reference where presumably they are all listed.

Me neither.

Already tried that plus several other synonyms but I'm still not having any luck, and that includes checking the cross-reference in the 18th edition.

I have the 20th edition and they are definitely there under gossip....in a highlighted section

Thanks- that entry has obviously been edited for the latest edition, as in the 18th it's simply a definition and the etymology.
