Thanks, but I've just ordered a secondhand copythe latest edition from a seller on Abebooks for the princely sum of ten quid including postage. Very kind of you to offer, though.

I was lucky enough to win an up to date Brewers from the Listener. I must say it's a great improvement on the rather tired version I had at the time :)

I’m afraid that I am binning this. At least one answer that is irreparably ambiguous (the potential variable letter is in an unch). “A list of a kind” (please, not again!) verifiable in Brewer’s (but only if you have the 20th edition - mine’s the 19th) along with some other frankly dull and not really cryptic clues. Maybe I’m just jaundiced - we spent most of the day on the Isle of May where puffin, Arctic Tern and other numbers are surging back after avian flu, travelling via the Bass Rock where it’s a similar story for the gannets. How could a crossword compete?!

Jack Aubrey - I’m with you, regretting wasting the ink to print it. Into the burgundy bin it goes. I’ll be sailing down the Forth next month so hope to see some of your pals.

Add me to the binners. Just spent 20 minutes scouring Brewer for likely candidates but have given up in a huff - or as Groucho would have put it, a minute and a huff.

Agree Bobby and its a shame because the unclued are all fun words if only we knew what they were

As Juvenal might have asked, who edits the editors?
