Thanks Cymro on 13d. I'll give that my CoD, clever. Forward planning being one of the more annoying phrases around, never done backward planning.

Thanks to Phil on 19d as well.

And I agree with your observation. Not so much about difficulty in the current Everyman era for me, but having to resort to filling in the gaps and work backwards to parse.

Oh... is that backward planning?

More fun than last week but still a but odd, with a couple of clues I think I have but not sure of details.

If anyone could hint at where the second letter of 6d and the second word of 4a come from Iā€™d appreciate it!

Hi stargull
"by"

I found this very much harder than yesterday's Prize, and there are several I'm not sure about. What Why does are the "stunts" in 1a? Where are the senior teachers in 17d? (I'm not sure I have that one right, in fact).

Chris, stunts is a verb and you need to add a ā€œdā€.

Hi Stargull (& all)
Second letter of 6 eluded me too, but I realised it was "by" as in What's 8 by 5?
Not sure about 4a, but really enjoyed today's mix of difficulty.
Particularly liked 24A, 10D, 16d & 13d which was LOI.
Thank you, Everyman, and happy Sunday all (it's sunny here in Devon!)

Chrise, the teachers in 17 are so senior that they probably don't teach any more!

Thanks dougalf - I did have it wrong. Why "backing", though?
