It is early days and I have just made a start on this puzzle. I am having trouble with 20 down the clue for which is "Conservative hack in spot - "Withdraw"."
I have three out of five letters if my across clues are correct:
?E?P?E
KELPIE, PEOPLE, TEMPLE, TEEPEE or WEEPIE would fit but I don't see why any of these match the clue. Any hints please?

19/4 Across "It offers a poor view of WASP leader declared to be gay" (5-3)

?H?T? - OUT. Not sure, but am assuming it's WHITE-OUT for the poor view with WASP being White Anglo-Saxon Person and OUT being declared gay?

This issue has not seen my best of starts to the edition's crossword.
15 across - Possibly old fashioned vice-president drinks "right" tea (9) and 18 across Battle time : far right gala disrupted (9) would fill in a few important gaps for me. All help appreciated.

15 Perchance, possible (old-fashioned word). Pence is the vice-president, with R, right and Cha, tea, inside.

18 Just an anagram for a very famous battle - Far and Gala and the usual 'right'...
