I may have solved 25A but am not at all sure my answer is right.

I have a two-letter (abbreviation) for the haircut, but the resulting four-letter word does not ring a bell for the meaning of "money".

(Though if I changed its first letter it would, but that would screw up 13d.)

Hi Daz,

25a - You're right that it's a 2 letter "haircut" and that's followed by apostrophe S then single letter "hard" - this then gives a slang word meaning "money"

Hmm — Collins has a definition it calls "West African" for my answer to 25A as follows:

"a gift, commission, tip, or bribe".

Is that the intended answer?

That doesn't sound right. The answer begins with a D - is that what you have?

Yes, that's what I have.

I checked the word in Collins online under onelook.com. The "West African" definition is way down the page.

I've just checked the Free Online Dictionary and it gives the answer as "British, a slang word for money".

Okay, I've just checked Chambers and there is a word with a different second letter that means "gift, gratuity and bribe" - the haircut is not the Teddy Boy one you're thinking of, rather an abbreviation of a longer word.

That's exactly what I have.

The past two Everypersons, I've been able to solve them without human assistance, though I may still have to use references like Google on one or two clues.

Oh — it just dawned on me that there are *two* two-letter haircuts.

I think you've been trying to tell me this, but I didn't get it until now.

The one I have is a two-letter abbreviation for a two-word haircut.

Now that I finally have the right answer for 25A, I have to wonder what is the longer word that the (correct!) two-letter haircut is an abbreviation of.
