Sorry, Gitto - I did try!

Happy to have got this done, in a respectable time, and not too shattered by the end of it

It was a pleasant and well-constructed puzzle, for sure, but I can’t help thinking the thematic “group” one is looking for is only relevant to a certain generation. Maybe thematic crosswords really are only for the over-60s …

I would just like to say here that I have only progressed with the Inquisitor crosswords because of the encouragement I have received from so many of you contributors, especially singling out Malone and drxx. I may have given up a long time ago. And I’m so glad I didn’t! This was another great test for me and I am in admiration of all compilers. Love my Saturdays.

It was all going so swimmingly until my 5th member of the new group. Could someone give me a nudge please ? It's the one with 8 letters.

If you have the other four correct the fifth will be obvious. TonyNannini. They are a distinct group of five. So I’m guessing you don’t

I am nearly there in that I have a completed grid - the quote and the 5 member group plus the significance to the quote . I erase these 5 and get what I am looking for to put in from the quote .. but is it just guesswork what to select from the second group to ensure that the grid is real words? Or have I missed an additional clue ? Thanks
