Buddy, speaking as one of the ''guilty'' ones, I appreciate your point of view and do try to limit myself, but sometimes one feels that one could do better, or has a flash of inspiration - to wit, this week's winning entry.
On the other hand, this site desperately needs an edit function, I believe. That would eliminate a number of otherwise unnecessary posts.

I also agree with Buddy’s sentiment, though I don’t think an absolute limit is necessary. Whenever someone writes “tweak to @x” or similar, I always take that as meaning the original clue is replaced by the updated one.

I like to write a few ideas down in the evening and come back to them in the morning. This is not always a successful strategy, however!
