prospero, my entry wasn't acknowledged either. Perhaps someone on the site could explain why? Has the entry gone in, or not? A trifle annoying.

Just entered my answers and I did get the usual “thank you” message acknowledging the submission. Curious.

Just finished. LOI was 12. I'm pretty sure I have the definition before modification for entry in the grid. Then, I have the grid entry as being 2 words. But for the life of me, I just can't see the wordplay. Can someone please explain? I have a feeling it might be obvious and I'm just being dumb!

Oh nvm, "on vacation" has just become clear to me if I read it as "upon vacation." DUH!

This is the last one for me in what was an enjoyable if easy romp. However, I can't for the life of me rationalise what's in front of me. I have a grid answer that I can't parse (3,3) and a clue answer (2,4) similarly. I'm beginning to wonder whether my crossers (ESA) are wrong but I don't think so. What am I not seeing here!?

Tegumen, your crossers look fine. The 3,3 is fine if you have the clue answer as 6....

A-ha I think I have it now! A six letter definition that becomes a 3,3 place. I somehow got it into my head that either beds were involved or ease. Maybe I need a lie down...

Not at all, Malone, your nudge was most useful! It meant I could immediately rule out one of my crackpot "answers" and then ... suddenly ... the waters of ignorance parted.
