Yes! The first Monday in the month is the usual, I think.

Good morning Malone,

That's what I thought too and I've just checked the time stamps of some previous ones and they're all either 00.00 or 00.01 GMT - curious 🤔

I've just emailed the Guardian Crossword editor to hopefully prompt him into action...... but no idea how often he reads his emails!

The entry method for the acrosses is easily deduced, at which point you're left with a fairly straightforward puzzle.

I could be wrong but it seems to me that the wordplay for 14a works better for the grid entry than it does for the answer.

Not so tricky this month, but still good fun. Took me a while to realise it wasn't just anagrams - then everything fitted neatly. Buddy - 14 does appear to fit the entry better than the solution, but then I think the first four letters of the solution give one a different "lot of weight" ... thanks, Philistine (not that I think he reads this!)

the site hasn't thanked me for submission as it usually does. Anyone else find this?

Agree, not too tricky but some nice touches in the cluing and an admirable construction in that given the limitation there were no obscurities.
Thanks to Picaroon.

(Prospero, indeed, I suspect "Philistine" probably won't read this!)
