thanks! never mind. user error. Indeed I had misclassified.

Having my birthday on a certain date meant I got the theme early. Mostly filled in with a few remaining answers to solve/parse.

Embarrassingly I'm utterly stymied by 15. (Put down women's medieval instrument, 5)

The otherwise completed grid gives me _R_T_ - can anyone give me a helpful nudge?

Usual single letter for women then a stringed instrument from medieval times… “put down” is past tense…

Put down as in a letter, document. I'd never heard of the four-letter medieval instrument...then it popped up in another recent puzzle.

In Welsh it’s called a ”crwth” … to my surprise also in Chambers
