Thanks jono - didn’t have Chambers to hand, and a quick search only revealed a website telling me I should NEVER use Ch for Chinese 🙄
Are you able to enlighten us on ‘up’ as anagrind? I automatically think of it as such but when thinking about it I don’t know why!

I don't understand 12a at all! I have the same crossers as Cymru and can only think of a country, not Guinea and nothing to do with migraines!!

12a is a word adopted from abroad. Hence unusual spelling.

4dn Green as in a vegetable secure as in grab, whole thing a kind of seat.
5dn Dubious synonym for "grace" on last letter o"kelly".

For4D green = vegetable + three letter verb to bag. Something to sit on.

4d - 4 letter "green is one" (think food) + 3 letter "secure" (as verb) - definition is "seat" (a very laid back type of one)

5d - 4 letter "lover" + single letter "tango" and single letter "kelly ultimately" - definition is "grace"

12a - this a very odd looking word I'd never heard of - It's "migraine oddly" (it looks like it gives you nonsense but it is correct) then 2 letter "Guinea exhausted" - definition is "with doctor"
