Thanks for the grid Jono, came in very handy.

Still a bit puzzled by 26d - I can see a British comedian (cryptic clue could be 'snake') but wouldn't call him a singer and, if I add a letter to the beginning and end (making the answer "stripped"), I do get a film director or one half of a British band but not an American comedian and singer.

Thanks Quisling, I think it must be him - it's just that, other than that famous song in a film, I wouldn't call him a singer.
