Reasonably straightforward I thought, despite tying myself in knots with two of the anagrams. It doesn’t help to add extra letters to them!

Good fun from Everyman as always. Am I missing something or is the word "good" superfluous in 20D?

acton, agreed on 20d. Perhaps another case where extra word added to smooth surface.

I thought that too, Geeker, the very is accounted for by 2 letters in the answer, but not the good as far as I could see. Nice crossword not too hard for me in the end!

Hi all. Agree - on the easy side, but fun nevertheless.
My CODs are 11A because it's a funny clue and you me while to parse, and 26 which made me laugh.
Stay well

In 20dn, doesn't "very good" give us two letters?

Yes, but the comments are that "very" would work just as well without the "good".

I'm accustomed to seeing 4D spelled only with one different vowel.

But sure enough, dictionaries list this spelling as an alternate.
