Congratulations, paul, and thanks, buddy, for the Beatles theme.
As a teenager I used to copy out the Top Twenty from the New Musical Express each week. I remember writing 17: Love Me Do - Beatles having never heard it. I thought Beatles might be the name of a girl singer.
I have certainly been in a golf three-ball with a George and a John, but Ringos are harder to come by.
Pop groups, including the Beatles at the behest of Brian Epstein, usually dressed smartly in the early 60s. I recently read a journalist's comment that the Stones were the first to perform in their everyday clothes.
