I agree sh. A quintillion is 10^18 per BRB and I don’t see how you can get the clue from that. If you type “30*10^18 to ” into google, it ought to give you something round about 1, but it actually gives 0.000972233787. Factor of a thousand out: should have been sextillion…

Oops, something weird happened to the formatting. What I was saying to type into google was: “30*10^18 {15d} to {the other word from whatever clue that was that was referenced from 15d}”

Ah, fair enough...I didn't delve too deeply after going 'Aha!'

(In fact I may have gone 'Aha!' while misinterpreting the clue and coming up with the right answer. 😄)

Mooncow my point was to suggest that the setter looking at the BRB combined the 1000 at the start of the definition with the 10^18 at the end to arrive at the 10^21 (and I know that is wrong!)

Re posts 30 and 32. ie 4,5,8,8,9 and 6. That only gives 6 items so what is the seventh. I'm still grid staring!

Thanks Will37. Back to grid staring. Incidentally, is the 'one cell wide rectangle ' relevant? All I have are 2 and 3 cells wide.

How have you got a 5 if all your rectangles are 2 or 3 wide?
