Stuck on last clue - 31a “Act like a witness going topless - most gross!” (6). I have *T*E*T. I think it is ATTEST, but cannot parse it. Any help appreciated

"going topless" = ATTEST (bear witness to)

Reasoning was fine thanks - for some reason I put in DIRECTION rather than DIRECTIVE for 29A, meaning that the letters I had for 22D were C**N*T, and I couldn't parse either CABINET or COCONUT as the answer!
