Just awaiting votes from bigblind and whetstone. In case you two missed the procedure it's explained in @1 of this thread. You are not late yet: deadline 8 p.m.(UK).

It's up to paulh, of course, but I think it's reasonable to assume that bacchanal intended to vote 3/2/1 for 1st/2nd/3rd places.

10 contestants this weekend and welcome to bigblind and whetstone. No votes from bigblind - I wonder if (s)he's out playing poker.

It was remarkable how nearly every clue got at least one vote.
3rd was aristophanes@6 with 5 votes.
=1st were jono@3 and buddy@5 with 7 votes.
I hope I am interpreting the rules correctly when I give the tiebreak to jono who has two first places (including one which was equal with one of his other clues) and buddy has just one. Well done, jono, with

It might be a midshipman's turn of phrase (7)

This is my original intention for your prize: https://youtu.be/-6EEcfP0QiI
I like the comparison between a fine country, folk, pop singer and the trained opera voice.

In @22, however, you mention this:

so enjoy the lovely Doris.

Finally, two messages:
jono, when hosting next week, I suggest you copy the preamble not from my WPR 194 where I messed up the 'bold' instructions, but from a previous WPR.

Norah and Ash, I am still hoping you can convert my handle to PaulH. I see that mathprofrockstar successfully became darla.

Well done jono, Thanks paulh for hosting and to voters for the votes.

paulh, I think you just have to re-register with a new name. I believe that's what darla did although she can weigh in.
