Brendan, I'm still puzzled that you find our choice ' a seemingly randomly chosen alternative', when there's plenty of confirmation for its validity (and the same would go for Ox).

Sorry Malone, I wasn't ignoring you and I'm sure you're right, it's just the ones I looked at (all two of them😀) said calf.

In retrospect I should have probably taken a step back and investigated further but, as you could probably tell, I was already well into the red zone, I'd gone nuclear in fact, so analytical and rational thinking was never likely to happen:-)

Anyway, I took my friend's dog Bailey out for a walk (I think talking about Smell the Glove made me want to put something on a leash 😂) and am now back to my usual calm and Zen state:-)

Thanks, Brendan. I could understand your initial annoyance, irritation, as I too had been looking for the 'real', obvious, word. My three minutes of research showed me that there were alternatives, fairly valid ones... and one was just where I wanted it toi be.

I was so pleased that you'd been able to give free rein to your artistic side, then it got ... snarled up in animals, terminology, sources etc. I'm glad chilled Brendan is back!

Thanks Malone, I was going to say that, now I've come back to my senses, I'd taken the puzzle back out of the bin but, I think we all know, it was never actually in there - as if I could throw such a beautiful work of art away:-)

Drxx, I.ve been trying to think of a witty play on words regarding my meltdown and "... going to 11" but it's just not coming and I need to make some dinner (or supper?)
