Think of a kind of seat. Add a 1 to it and you get an 8

I only have the first word of 17d and the long 15a to get. But I have w...t for 20a. Is that right because I'm drawing a blank on what that could be?

Your letters are right for 20a, but (4,1) would be a fairer enumeration.

OK I've got it but I'm going to have to think about the parsing of that a bit more. Thanks ChrisE.
