Hi Dorrien, “Sandy’s call” was intended to indicate a Scottish word word call -> “CA”
(see “Sandy” and “ca” in Chambers, perhaps a bit obscure! :-)

Chambers has “to skylark” = “to frolic boisterously”

Surface somewhat reminiscent of Shelley’s “To a Skylark” the first line of which is “Hail to thee…”
