Generally good fun I thought though I’m not sure about 3d, isn’t the answer is more to do with over-complicating rather than complaining, or perhaps I’m missing something…

I agree about 3d, and the wording of 5d doesn't seem to get the insertion the right way round - it needs an "in" or similar (though that would spoil the surface).

Quick solve today. I agree with Jono re 3d. I had 24d the wrong way round at first - easy to fall into! Didn't like 7d much ABU. Thanks to Everyman.

Am I missing something in 9A? It seems very literal?

I raised an eyebrow at 9 too, but I think a slang meaning of "sauce" is intended.

Quick solve with some neat clueing I thought. Particularly impressed with the ‘hidden’. I agree with the definition in 3d being suspect but I think the ‘when concealed’ part of 5d makes it work. Might need the mathsprof, but isn’t the answer to 22 something other than a whole number In maths? Doesn’t that end ‘er’?

Yes, the first definition in 22 needs pushing a bit to make it work - possibly too much!
