I agree, generally fairly easy with 17; 19 & 20 being the final head scratchers. I don’t think that I’ve heard of 8a either. I have one letter I can’t parse in both 1a & 4a

Parsing 17 a: “Dishearten” Sonny. Struggle indicates anagram.Add in fourth of Liston.

Yes took a while after a bright start nor as easy as some 16d is also a little odd in the parsing usually half would mean consecutive letters.

Nickos20, it does mean that here. The football team I
has six letters, so you need three more. And thus the half relates to two words, not one

Morning all. Found this easier than usual, with 13D raising a smile, though I can’t fully parse it.

I zapped through this too, I had heard of 8a which helped

Not yet parsed the start of 4a

I agree there were no stand out clues today

13d is an anagram, where you have to remove the first and sixth letter of the word to provide the anagrist

Got about half out quickly then slowly got to all bar 19a,25a, 13d and 20d .
Maybe if I'd got one I'd have another but I didn't.

For 13d I can see what's going on but there seems to be too many letters.
