Is it ok if I declare then winner now? I know mattrom hasn’t voted but I have to go out.
If so the winner is buddy@16 and jono@10 on 6 votes. I guess jono should just squeeze it for lots of other great votes, sorry buddy, big apologies.

Thanks to the 9 setters for great clues.

I will bow out of this forum, apologies.

I am hoping these links work.
Today’s prizes:
My risqué prostitute clue last week was written in the foyer of the National before a performance of Othello. So, the clue word and prizes seem appropriate though there is a more fun prize too.

Well worth watching all 7 minutes to get the full brilliance of Iago’s plotting.

Ian McKellen as Iago ("Put money in thy purse") - Bing video

A sad song sung by Desdomona before her murder

The Willow Song from Shakespeare’s Othello - YouTube

And some more fun if needed

Not sure it is kosher to not let mattrom vote, but I'm happy to concede the gold to jono's excellent clue. Here are working links to what I think jimmy had in mind for prizes:

Thanks all for the votes.

My votes would have been - 1 vote each for;
jono 3
jono 10
buddy 16
buddy 20
aristo 25
tyke 26
... so it wouldn't have changed the outcome. Well done, jono, (and buddy) and thanks to those who voted for my clues.
Perhaps if the host needs to wrap things up early, then the voting could start earlier as well?
We rarely have last-minute entries, and a 7-8 hour span would allow those from different countries to participate.

Well done, Jono. Commiserations, Buddy.

Thanks to Jimmyg for hosting.

Seriously good clueing, I didn't expect to get any votes/mentions. So, thanks to Buddy, and to Geeker. Very much appreciated.

I quite often submit latish clues for WPR, but am happy to go with the change it that's what people would prefer

Spike, I think Mattrom is suggesting we only need to change timings if the host can’t wait until evening time in the UK (early morning in Oz) to wrap things up.
I’ll keep the timings the same next weekend.

You’re on a roll, jono. Thanks, Jimmy, and sorry to hear you’re checking out (hope it’s not a health issue).
I thought one of the prizes might have to do with the U of Michigan prof who was suspended for traumatizing his students by showing them Olivier’s Othello.
