After a good start, I still can't work out the carol and the one beneath it, 85 Across. Any help appreciated.

Hi Rocketman,

The "Carol" is a place name and if you Google it followed by "carol" you should see it straight away.

85a - first 2 letters are an "ancient copper" Roman coin then 5 letter "measures" - definition is "in court" (periodical sitting of judges on circuit)

Hi, I have enjoyed this puzzle. I just have a few to finish off. Please could I have a hint for 6 down, does it begin with F? Also I am stuck on 40 across, I cannot seem to fit two words in to make a party? Thank you
