I don't normally post on here, but I read the thread every week. Just came to say I really enjoyed today's crossword, but it felt more like a Quiptic than a Prize.

Still, a fun work out.

Yep, easily done, and not really a big deal. As someone said, it's only a crossword. (And in my opinion a very disappointing crossword at that, but I'm glad to see some people enjoyed it.)

This isn't exactly my specialist subject either which is why I needed Google to confirm ones like 2d and 7d but I'm sure I've heard 1d mentioned on a long running Radio 4 programme 😜

I suppose one of the things which made this rather easy and uninteresting was that I did know most of the theme words, and if you do know them then the definition parts of the clues are so straightforward as to make them trivial. However, that certainly wasn't the whole reason, as I got the first six across clues as soon as I read them, and none of those are themed. However, there were a few clues that I liked, notably 11a & 14d. I think 14d is my COD.
