It's an unusual meaning - to me, at any rate - of separate. AT is missing.

Granama1, the obvious two-letter abbreviation of “appropriate technology” is removed from the end of the wordplay

Thanks Cockie. Not seen that abbreviation or that use of the word before!

Hi!

A nice easy grid fill and what seems to be an obvious endgame, but all the online translators I've found are coming up with gibberish. I always seem to struggle with any kind of letter for letter code, so any helps to a helpful tool would be appreciated. Or, if I just stare at images of the two different layouts, how do I ignore punctuation?

It might be hard to answer without giving away too much info, so please all feel free to ignore this plea.

Take care,
Suzannah x

I wrote out the letters of both sets in order - ignoring punctuation keys - one above the other, looked for the grid entry letter and selected the letter below it each time (standard layout top, non-standard bottom).

Thanks drxx! That sounds a rather sensible way of approaching it. Why didn't I think of that? Now off to have a go...

Stuck on 14a. Think I have first three letters but can't parse 12d, so could be wrong. Help with these two please.
Otherwise nice puzzle, tougher than Listener this week.

Thanks, I had the down one right, but had ruled out the ship as an answer.
