I have the three checking letters as sin?

Definition is ‘finding fault with’. Take first letter of loud followed by a three letter word for noise and put inside ‘scog’ (Highland Shelter) to give an eight letter word.

The brood is a noun, as in bundle of children, animals etc. - and the extra letter is taken from there. The 'ordinary' is the usual and gets put in. Loaf is a verb...
