Tough one! I have 3 complete quadrants (with one ?/quibble) but cannot get a way into the 'E' clues. Q? Do the obelisks clues also have 2 extra letters in? It does say 'Each clue...'

A hint for Lawmakers for Empire..... or Informal shirt tail... would perhaps get me rolling.

...and here we are again. 😄 Having been pleased to get the 3 quadrants completed the 4th seems to be my Achille's heel.

'Eccentricity by comic animals' I assume an abbreviation for the first word and letters lost from the last but....

I also have an/the answer for 'Hear boy's outside Ian's to gatecrash'. Ian being our old friend from North of the border but I can't find the 2 letters to remove to give me the addition to boy. It seems obvious where they have to come from.

This is like doing 3 crosswords simultaneously!

CO is lost from comic, then yes your E after mic

HE is lost from hear leaving ar (the sound of the letter R which then goes inside son(boy)

I'd be (genuinely) interested to know why those who are seeking assistance don't use the hints which are provided specifically to accompany the puzzle.
