Yes, "yo" in Spanish means "I", but "yo" is also used as a greeting, at least in the US, something like "hey." So, there's your "yo, Blair." W was notorious for frat boy speak.

I won't add it to my shortlist, as I don't think that anything other than the most obvious knowledge of foreign languages is quite fair. There was a Guardian clue earlier in the week in a crossword with boy's and girl's names as a theme:

… because the French girl … (5)

(The ellipses were in the clue)

Several of us thought it unfair!

btw YO is presumably congruent with the Italian IO (I do speak Italian!)

I found that entire puzzle irritating.
