yes, L instead of A first letter. def is "a letter"

Just finished thanks as usual to you guys . Like many others found this impossible on first run through , not helped by dividing my attention between cricket and crossword. Late start today after a late night watching Paul McCartney at Glastonbury. Quite an eventful weekend so far and now back to the cricket!!

Philo , totally agree with your comments re Geeker and Brendan what would we do without them . Barryc also agree with you re ads.

I use an adblocker - Adblock Plus - and very rarely see any adverts.

I use Adblock Plus and have never seen a popup. But I use my home PC, not a phone.

I work on an iPad and use AdGuard for Safari, free and well reviewed on the App store. Don’t see ads

Finally finished! ...much kicking myself for 6 & 18D, as well as 21 ..and 14A.... enjoyed the theme ...anagrams well hidden and misdirection aplenty...great fun ! Well done Vlad!

This was a hard crossword. Only just finished it now.
Had to use a missing letters solver for 5D (never would have got that). Can't parse it though - not read rest of the thread yet.

Enjoyed the theme. Only in the Graun would we get a theme like that lol.

Thanks to Chrise ,Geeker and Jono for info, I use my iPad so will try AdGuard.

2D was my favourite clue anyway. He was a funny looking chap wasn't he!
