I can't for the the life of me see how to use the extra words to form the survivor, nor where the survivor might be placed without affecting already amended cells. I think I have the right extra words, though I'm not absolutely sure about 28. Like others, I'm also not sure how to perform step two 'graphically'.

Wow, think I’m done but that might be the toughest Listener for me so far.

Found the grid fill really difficult and like others have said am having to guess a bit about the second phase.

Still have a few parsing queries to resolve but pleased to have finished

Thanks ukridge and drxx, I'm still baffled; with the second letter of the entry being the final one of the 'Asian native', how can the 'tumbler' be fitted in? It isn't a homophone of the 'gossip' either, or at best a very poor one.

Thanks quisling. I've seen already that the word produced by doubling the second letter is a good homophone, but where in the BRB is it given as an alternative spelling of the tumbler, please?

Thank you quisling. Yes, I saw that post and I feel I should be taking the last sentence of the preamble literally. But if that is so I can't see where to do it. Since only seven letters would change, the rest should already be there, and I can't see them.

You don’t double the second letter, greengage. It’s a different letter. The answer is in Bradford’s
