Thanks, quisling - I did the same... but the puzzle is messy enough without this (and there's very little 'surface' to any of the clues to justify it).

I’m happy that I have completed the first instruction correctly; I find the second one less clear cut but I think my solution is correct. The third instruction seems impossible. I’m satisfied I know the survivor (at least according to Wiki), and I can apply the instruction satisfactorily to complete just under half of this survivor, but I can’t seem to use the remaining five extra words in the same way to provide the remainder of the survivor.

I'm in the same boat as gitto and despite the comment of drxx at post #18 keep slogging away, much against my better judgement. Definitely a Premier League puzzle and I'm very much Championship standard!

I think the preamble strays into mind-game territory - I relied on a certain reading of the last requirement (and a memory of something from the start).

Still really struggling with this one - a nudge for 12 across would be welcome!

Drxx @51. I don’t disagree. A word like raunchiest or red-hot would have served better.

I think it was designed to be as resistant to solving aids as possible. Throw in the question of what is meant by a graphical, rather than physical, depiction of the fate of the characters within the destination, and the opacity of the penultimate sentence of the preamble, and it was all a bit too obscure for me

mandyrob, the def is the first four words. You need to add a letter to the fifth word.

Candlestick, the extra words are all in the correct order. You will need three of them to complete the first part of the survivor

Thanks Quisling. Spotted what to do now, so I’m sure of step three. I think it is ridiculously abstruse, but having got it I’m sure I have the correct solution to that part. Still have some concerns about step two, but the final fate is clear, and I presume any reasonable graphical representation will be acceptable.
