The cow was my gateway clue to see what was going on. I was hoping to find a few more themers in the grid, but there were a couple in the clues too. Happy memories of watching this in the packed first year Uni hall common room !
Took me ages to get how 9a parsed - that, with 1a and 2d, was my last stretch.
Never used 10a or seen it but I can imagine it being used in phone software developers' techie discussions.
11a leaped out at me, too - but I thought it was too easy and tried to make something else looking for anagrams in the clue. Didn't go well.

Having trouble with 13d, I have d?c?-b ?r?f. I have a solution but can't parse it. In particular I can't find the definition on-line (may have to resort to my old paper Chambers!)
Also, can I expect green tick in the app if I am not a subscriber. I have a tick for the sudoko

13d - 4 letter "cut" as some people might do to a dog's tail + 5 letter "short" - definition is "lawyer's task" but it's not in Chambers although I think Jono said it's in the OED - Your letters are all correct.

Actually the 4th crosser was incorrect, but it might be a Freudian slip...correct letter in wrong position. :-)

The D?C? is correct but the R is in the wrong place in the second word.

Yes, you will get a tick if it's correct even if you are not a subscriber.

Anyone else noted the connection to the theme and 26ac? Which reminds me, I must get my moped fixed, it's far too funky for today's world.....LOL
